What I didn't expect after returning home

I knew that things would be different upon returning especially when I knew that it wouldn't be quite as fun as during my year abroad (An 80% final year does not allow for many shenaningans outside of study) But what I didn't expect was how different it would be.

Yep, I've got a bad case of the post year abroad/travel blues.

The grim, grey weather does not help and neither do the incessant reminders of life in Medellin on Facebook. However, I'm trying as much as possible to combat the reverse culture shock that I had beforehand regarded as an urban myth.

So, what have I been doing?

Well the main thing I've done is start ticking off my 23 before 23 list. Now my calendar for the next few months are packed. My plans are as follows:

London 1st-4th November Attending the Traverse pre-WTM Mingle and exploring all that Landan town has to offer.

Copenhagen 15th-17th November We managed to get a great deal on flights (£50) so I will be excited to experience my first time in Scandinavia!

Barcelona 7th-10th February Again the source of another great deal and I have the opportunity to meet up with my Swiss travelling partner from Central America

The Avalanche Run 15th February I said I wanted to a Tough Mudder or Tough Guy-esque race on my list so me and my sister have signed up for this, argh!

Newcastle 21st-23rd February Traverse 14 - a travel blogging conference. I'm hoping the conference will offer me some much needed guidance in my weak areas blogging-wise and I hope to meet all the amazing people involved in this up-and-coming industry.

And the big one... HONG KONG 16th April-30th April My sister from another mister is currently teaching English in Hong Kong so I had just to take the opportunity to see her. We're hoping to do a little exploring somewhere in SE Asia but we have yet to decide where.

Granted my overdraft has seen better days but all this planning and keeping myself busy has really helped keep reverse culture shock at bay (for now)

What's your tips for post-travel blues? Any tips for any of the destinations I'm going to?
